The robot, designed and built by K.E. & Kingstone and Hobot Technology, was released at a press conference with a view to taking advantage of end of year promotions at major department stores.
The robot, which will retail at just under NT$10,000 ($300), is the brainchild of local inventor Chao Chih-mo. It works by using a series of magnets allowing the robot to be attached to each side of the window, cleaning both sides at the same.
Winbot can detect the cleaning area using automatic navigation technology and infra-red sensors, and works up to five times quicker than a human window cleaner.
